About Allison

With over 20 years of experience in special education, I provide comprehensive vision education services to students with visual impairments across San Diego County and remote districts. My approach combines evidence-based instructional strategies with compassionate, student-centered care.

I believe every student deserves access to curriculum regardless of visual ability. Through assistive technology, adapted materials, and specialized instruction, I help students achieve independence and academic success.

Functional Vision Assessments

Comprehensive evaluations to determine how a student uses their vision in educational settings, including recommendations for accommodations and assistive technology.

Learning Media Assessment (LMA)

Determining the most appropriate learning medium for each student: visual, auditory, tactile (Braille), or dual-media approaches.

Assistive Technology Training

Instruction in screen readers, magnification software, refreshable Braille displays, and other tools that enable independent access to digital content.

IEP & 504 Support

Collaboration with IEP teams to develop appropriate goals, accommodations, and service minutes for students with visual impairments.

Remote TVI Services

Virtual instruction and consultation for districts that cannot secure a local TVI. Secure, FERPA-compliant video sessions with adapted digital materials.
